Now I dont like coke myself, but MythBusters and possibly on Snopes.com you can find out that half that stuff about coke isnt true. It doesnt help a rusted bolt, it doesnt clean off a car battery, and it wont clean a chrome bumper.
The facts about water however, I think are all true.

The info on water is true, though some is inflated. All the info on Coke is false. I am all for increasing water consumption to better health. For example, increasing water intake can help people with chronic bronchitis (like me) and other respiratory problems by thinning the mucus.
but scare tactics that are blatant lies don’t do any good. That only turns people off.

I already began to drink just water(even no tea, no coffee and so), I knew that Coke is not healthy but I drink it so rarely just when I feel dizzy…

You all are worried about the wrong chemicals.
I live in Atlanta and the Coca-Cola company, a business partner, has probably has funded much of what I have earned. Classic Coke is okay but the sugar will kill you over time . . . what will hurt many people sooner is the Nutrasweet in Diet Coke . . . look into it and realize that the FDA was stacked to create its approval (denied multiple times earlier), trials in which many monkey died were declared invalid since their handler mysteriously died; Don Rumsfeld (yes) had a brief corporate career just long enough to CEO the company during the time it was brought to market; brain cancers spiked incredibly a couple of years after the introduction of Diet Coke, one of the first huge consumer contracts.
Notice that enough people know that our vaunted Coke company has had to introduce an alternative diet coke with another less toxic sweetener.
And, yah, I don’t know whats with snopes.com on things like this — all facts above are admitted and undeniable. snopes used to be reliable.
And the WATER . . . don’t get me started. Just remember it is delivered by your government, hopefully locally, yours is good.

Where are your references? I agree coke is probably bad for you and people eat too many dehydrated foods and don’t drink enough water but these facts are just pulled out of yours or somebody else’s poohole.

I think perhaps these claims are a bit inflated. I agree that soda is bad for you but not because it may or may not do the things listed above. I mean, vinegar does some pretty awesome stuff as far as being a cleaning agent, and so does lemon juice and baking soda. In fact, I like using them a lot more than I like using store bought chemicals, but I still use them in cooking. Flour and water make a great paste, cornstarch and water make a strange non-Newtonian fluid, peanut butter and/or vegetable oil literally dissolves gum and other adhesives, and I’ve even used vinegar to kill some small weeds. Simply because the chemical properties of your food can do other things doesn’t mean anything. Focusing on the high amount of sugar and the addictive properties of caffeine might be a more realistic route.

Actually the mention of coke cleaning a car battery is true. Someone I know had problems with their battery in their car being corroded and my dad poured coke on it so he could jump the car and the coke removed most, if not all, of the corrosion.
